Wow.... Robert Seidman outdid himself on this one.

Quote:
It’s hard to blame Fox for moving Touch to Thursdays. “Let’s give our last best shot at drama for 2011-12 season its best shot” makes a lot of sense even if it dredged up the crazy and pathetic Bones fans (of course not all Bones fans are crazy and pathetic, most of them are very cool I’m sure. But the crazy and pathetic ones poked their heads out of their gopher holes when the schedule change was announced).

Sure, there's not chance Bones ratings on Mondays at 8pm won’t be as good as they would’ve been following American Idol on Thursdays, but I’m not too worried about Bones even with that. With The Finder and Alcatraz headed towards cancellation and House limping off into the sunset it’s hard (though not impossible) to imagine Bones not coming back next season.

Whatever...I'm not a fan of his. He writes his biases as fact. I see he got a bit of egg on his face about Terra Nova. He forgot, in all his posturing, about the COST that sucker was to make. I have a feeling Fringe will surprise him too. They are REALLY close to syndication. The genre of Syfy, cult-classic TV series does VERY well in DVD sales and syndication. Totally a way to make back their money. Not saying that's the way they're gonna go, but there are more factors involved than just Fringe's ratings.

This guy sounds like a real douche. That being said, I think Terra Nova going just opened up the door for Fringe. I believe it has been upgraded to a safe bet, while The Finder is a long shot. Really, is anyone surprised?? As far as Bones moving to Mondays, it did open the panic flood gates. Bones fans are very passionate and don't handle change well. I think Bones will pull similar ratings in the Monday time slot as they did on Thursday, if the random 1 episode at 8 pm in January was anything to go by. Will Bones win the night? No. But I don't think Fox is expecting them to. Bones is solid, but Fox does need to think about the future. If that means putting their last ditch effort in the coveted post AI spot, then so be it. Not a big deal.

I agree. I think Bones will almost certainly get renewed. And, I REALLY hope Terra Nova leaving means Fox is thinking about keeping Fringe, if only for one more final season. I love that show SO much.

Hart Hanson already mentioned a possible 9th season when he was at the Paley . That's what I want to see too.

I wouldn't hold your breath for a season 9. That's just HH bravado. He knows he's darn lucky to be getting 8. If Terra Nova or Alcatraz had really taken off Bones would be gone. Bones is Treading water. Good enough to keep around another year, but those rating won't be climbing and the expense of a season nine,,,most likely not worth it. The cast is burnt out as it is.

I think they are very lucky to be getting Season 8 and I just hope that the ratings hold for the rest of Season 7 for a Season 8.

Hart doesn't usually talk about 2 seasons like that. I expect he's dealing now. Bones is doing well in syndication and the new Booth/Brennan/baby storyline breathes new life into this show.

Can't agree. He doesn't usually go in for bravado about new seasons. He did get 2 seasons a couple of years ago. I don't see the cast as being burned out at all. I'm still enjoying the show. There is lots of material still to cover. It's still very entertaining. Look at how excited people are on Twitter about the new promos.

Look at them being bumped to Monday nights. Look at House. The ratings are okay, but certainly have dropped. Every year a show is on, it gets more expensive to make. It would be pretty dumb for Fox - all things considered for Fox to renew for two. As for bravado - HH through the whole Hannah storyline as it was being kicked left and right by fans and critics alike - until Fox made him pull it. Rolling Eyes He'll say anything to make things seem seem better than they are. As for Twitter - there are as many X-bones fans on Twitter as those still watching. They just don't cross paths unless you get curious and look. B&B have lost just about every major poll they've been in this year. I'd put money on 8 being their last year.

Let's just wait and see before sounding the death knell. I never watched House so I can't compare.

I know I'm more interested this year in seeing where it goes. I was getting numbed out by the will they/won't they.

Now we can expect more sparks.

Let see how season 7 plays out and where this cliffhanger leaves the show. I'm anxious that the cliffhanger is another turnoff for more of the fan base. With season 6 and this season long hiatus, Harts constant distaste for is loyal fan base they will not accept some of his ideas I wonder what a two more season would be like. I wonder if fans will stick around at all. Everyone will watch episode 7 and maybe episode 15.
I never thought I say this but I am starting to lose interest in the show. The show concept is no longer the same.

That's putting it mildly - and the change in concept has nothing to do with them being together or the baby. It has to do with who the characters ARE and what they mean to each other. If these were the same characters pre 100th episode and had this current situation developed out of that relationship and those people I'd be totally into this show. The pod people HH has now... Rolling Eyes boring
